June 2009: LRV values to aid compliance with DDA

Treads Stair Nosings now has Light Reflectance Values (LRVs) available for all its stair nosing inserts. This will help specifiers and flooring contractors conform to the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) guidance in Building Regulations Part M. This recommends that adjacent critical surfaces and features have a visual contrast difference of 30 LRV points.

We are working in partnership with NCS Colour Centre to establish the LRVs of our insert colours and flooring products. NCS Colour Centre is licensed to use the international colour system (ICS), enabling clear communication and accurate measurement of colour. Tests are carried out in accordance with BS8493:2008 Light Reflectance Value method of test.
