November 2010: NEW addition to the M range of stair nosings

Treads has just introduced a new stair nosing to its M range of 5mm aluminium stair nosings for carpets. Like all Treads' stair nosings, this new nosing uses an innovative installation method. It is fixed through the aluminium only and the insert is applied afterwards, creating an aesthetically pleasing finish and avoiding the problems associated with missing plugs. The new nosing is suitable for use in every commercial environment, including high traffic areas.

June 2009: LRV values to aid compliance with DDA

Treads Stair Nosings now has Light Reflectance Values (LRVs) available for all its stair nosing inserts. This will help specifiers and flooring contractors conform to the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) guidance in Building Regulations Part M. This recommends that adjacent critical surfaces and features have a visual contrast difference of 30 LRV points.

We are working in partnership with NCS Colour Centre to establish the LRVs of our insert colours and flooring products. NCS Colour Centre is licensed to use the international colour system (ICS), enabling clear communication and accurate measurement of colour. Tests are carried out in accordance with BS8493:2008 Light Reflectance Value method of test.

February 2009: New products added to Treads range

Treads Stair Nosings is delighted to announce it has just added three new products to its range:

October 2008: Treads launches its new website

As you can see, Treads now has a website. It features an interactive catalogue so you can select the stair nosing you need. It also has an industry equivalence finder so you can find the Treads' equivalents of other suppliers' stair nosings.
